What should I wear?
Wear what makes you comfortable! Dress as you would normally, and you’ll fit right in with the crowd.
Do I need to bring anything to church?
We have Bibles and songbooks available for you to use for all the services, so don’t worry about bringing anything.
Am I expected to give money in the offering?
Not at all! You will not be expected to give any money when you visit. During our services, there is no offering plate that is passed around, just a plate in the back that is available for those who are part of the Akigawa Baptist Church family, our regular attenders and members. Christians understand giving as a way in which they can express their thankfulness to God, and through which they can share God’s love by meeting the needs of others.
Do I have to be a Christian to come to church or attend an event?
No, our church is available for everyone to attend, regardless of whether or not they are a Christian. All of our events are available for you to be a part of even if you don’t think you’re able to attend any of our services. We want our church to be a welcome place for you, a place where you feel like you can learn about who Jesus is at your pace.
Do I have to attend all the services?
Not at all! If you want to come to the afternoon Bible/English class, that is absolutely fine. If you just want to have your children come to Kids Club, that’s OK too. Each service is designed to be an encouragement to you, and we would love to have you stay, because we know you will be blessed by it, but we understand that you have other things going on too.
Can I join the children’s activities with my kids?
Of course! Parents can come join their children any time. Not only do you get to see what your children are learning, but you get to hear the stories from the Bible on a very easy to understand level. Who knows? you might want to join in to play the games every once in a while!
